This was our second trip to Italy. The first time we made all of the arrangements ourselves. We decided to book with an agent this time because of some special events we hoped to enjoy such as the Andrea Bocelli concert in Tuscany. We are very happy we booked with Cieli di Toscana. Our agent spent a great deal of time with us in preparation and planning. She provided choices in hotels in all four of our stops and we made the final decision. The agency provided a full itinerary with tips and advice on where to go and what to see along our journey. We were provided with English-speaking guides to see us to our first stop and then, to the car that Celia arranged for us. We were very happy with all of our accommodations.
In Santa Margherita Ligure, the town next to Portofino, they arranged a personal boat excursion to Portofino and surrounding areas. Our guide could not have been better suited for us. He has lived in the area all of his life; knew all about it and knew most everyone in Portofino. He was able to secure a dinner reservation for us that very night. That day out on the water and in the town of Portofino, was probably our favorite day.
It was very convenient to have all of the arrangements made ahead of time, especially the car rental from Venice, which was so much easier that navigating it ourselves like we did the first time. This was a great experience and we highly recommend this agency.
